STRATEGY 7 Corporation, one of the largest independent software and service solution providers to the Automotive Aftermarket, has just signed an exclusive agreement with DQ Technologies to represent their GPS based Order Delivery Tracking (ODT) solution worldwide. In addition, Strategy 7 software engineers have successfully added valuable middleware to better adapt the system to the requirements of Ultimate users. The system has been successfully implemented and is currently operational at a user site.
ODT is a powerful, flexible toolset that provides user-specified, accurate, real time delivery and scheduling information to dispatch, sales, and management to more effectively direct daily warehouse operations. It greatly improves customer service by streamlining those operations, enabling warehouse distributors to efficiently supervise loading, scheduling, and delivery. By incorporating GPS mapping, routing and tracking capabilities, ODT allows users to locate, track, and optimize their most important distribution resources with a high degree of precision. With ODT, you can visually observe the exact location of every delivery vehicle and even to retrace vehicle movements to determine delivery time and to verify routing. It provides everyone in the organization immediate access to the current status of each order, and more importantly, by making this data available for viewing by the sales organization, ODT eliminates many calls to the dispatcher’s desk by providing timely delivery information without the need to contact the dispatcher, thereby immediately improving operational efficiency.
Strategy 7 has added several features and functions to ODT that make it an even more powerful toolset for Ultimate™ warehouse distribution users, specifically the ability to:
- Integrate all order entry programs for the central phone room, counter, stock, etc.
- Integrate delivery setup with inter-store transfers
- Enable ‘relay type’ deliveries for buy-outs and transfers (i.e., order from one store, but pick up at or deliver from another location
- Specify pick-up or delivery for buy-outs and transfers
- Provide real time updates to the DQ Server
Traditionally, dispatchers have used a handwritten delivery log to track daily delivery activity combined with a delivery board (clipboards or "trays") to hold future deliveries. ODT follows a similar process, but automates it to eliminate the tedious data entry associated with a hand-written procedure. The system captures the complete order lifecycle tracking from order creation through delivery, combining and organizing it with simple bar code scanning. ODT provides a powerful reporting capability, detailing everything from the performance of a particular employee to the overall productivity of drivers and loaders, with the specific criteria determined by the user.
