Newport
Beach, CA/New York, NY — August 27th, 2003
— Strategy 7 Corporation, a national
value-added reseller for IBM DB2, INFORMIX IDS
and IBM U-2, as well as the Wireless and E-Business
industries, has entered into an agreement with
the UNITED NATION’S UNFPA (United Nation’s
Population Fund--www.unfpa.org)
to install IBM’s INFORMIX Dynamic Server.
Features of the Dynamic Server include advanced
spatial analysis capabilities, increased ease
of use with bundled tools, and enhanced enterprise
replication. These features enable IDS customers
to increase database efficiency and reduce administration
costs.
UNFPA (United Nation’s Population Fund)
is the world's leading advocate for reproductive
health and rights, including the right to choose
the number and spacing of one's children. The
Fund also promotes the inclusion of population
issues in national planning processes. Advocacy-at
the individual, community, national, regional
and global levels-is a powerful tool by which
UNFPA is able to increase its impact.
Alliances-with other United Nations agencies,
governments, NGOs, foundations and the private
sector-enable the Fund to raise awareness of and
mobilize support for the goals set forth in the
International Conference on Population and Development
and the UN Millennium Summit.
UNFPA supports programs in four developing regions:
Arab States and Europe, Asia and the Pacific,
Latin America and the Caribbean, and sub-Saharan
Africa. The organization has a presence in142
countries, areas and territories through nine
Country Technical Services Teams and 112 country
offices.
Informix Dynamic Server is the industry's most
advanced spatial analysis tool is a no-cost function
that enables IDS to take account of geographical
locations. This datablade utilizes a "nearest
neighbor" function that helps users find
the nearest points to any location, such as finding
the nearest taxi-cab to a cell phone user.
Exclusive tools bundled for IDS: Increased ease
of use with bundled ServerStudio JE, Dynamic Logs
and IBM/Informix System Administrator reduce system
down time and total operational costs. This bundle
is ideal for global medium business customers
because it requires fewer database administrators
to keep systems running 24x7.
“IBM’s INFORMIX Dynamic Server enables
the UNFPA to quickly and easily extract and move
data to and from local or regional offices, international
locations and corporate headquarters,” comments
Strategy 7 President, Joseph Rodriguez II.
ABOUT UNFPA
UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, is
the world's largest international source of funding
for population and reproductive health programs.
Since 1969, the Fund has provided nearly $6 billion
in assistance to developing countries. UNFPA works
with governments and non-governmental organizations
in over 140 countries, at their request, and with
the support of the international community. UNFPA’s
programs help women, men and young people: plan
their families and avoid unwanted pregnancies,
undergo pregnancy and childbirth safely, avoid
sexually transmitted diseases (STIs) - including
HIV/AIDS as well as combat violence against women.
Together, these elements promote reproductive
health-a state of complete physical, mental and
social well being in all matters related to the
reproductive system. Reproductive health is recognized
as a human right, part of the right to health.
